Hi, I’m Dr. Rachel Barbanel-Fried, aka Dr. RBF.

I am a Clinical Psychologist and Certified Executive Coach.

I consult with executives and organizations looking to elevate performance and reach new levels of success in the workplace and beyond.

I also see individuals, couples, and families in a therapeutic setting who are looking to move forward towards growth, change, and healing.

I utilize an evidence-based, dynamic, collaborative approach. I’m direct, down-to-earth, and non-judgmental. I specialize in working with people from diverse backgrounds.

“If you want to make change, you have to slow down and become aware of what your needs are.

Most of us are too busy doing to stay still long enough to listen to our innermost truth.”

Background

I received my doctorate in Clinical Psychology from The George Washington University, completing my internship/residency at the American University Counseling Center. I worked in the Washington, D.C. school system and other college counseling centers before opening my private practice, first in Washington, D.C., and later in Newton, Massachusetts.

I’ve been on the faculty at The George Washington University, Argosy University, Boston College, the Boston Institute for Psychotherapy, and Harvard Medical School.

I have received specialized training with some of the country’s most renowned thought leaders including: James Gordon, Mark Hyman, Cynthia Geyer, Jon Kabbat-Zinn, Saki Santorelli, Tara Brach, Dan Brown, Jamie Wheal, and Steven Kotler. I’m an experienced Yoga Teacher, and am certified to teach Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction.

I’m a Certified Executive Coach through the Center for Executive Coaching. As an Executive Coach, I help professionals transform into authentic leaders. I offer inspirational, educational workshops, connecting with audiences through sharing complex ideas through simple actions.

I take a holistic approach to understand the whole person in their particular system. Whether in my work with Executive Teams, Individuals, Couples, or Families, we use history and present situations to create a powerful path towards success.

I’m an experienced speaker and have presented for many different settings from schools, to hospitals, businesses, and non-profit organizations.
